I'd love to get some real conversation going here about the posts, both the older ones and whatever is current. So let me open with a question: have any of you ever sat down to write your own life story? A journal, a diary, even a loose set of notes you keep for yourself? If you want a sense of what that can look like done well, Jane Fonda's autobiography, "Prime Time," lays it out clearly. It gives you a feel for what the whole exercise is actually for.

Teaching keeps pointing me toward things I didn't expect to find in psychology, and that's part of why I keep writing here. So thank you to everyone who reads along. Stay with it.

A few of you have asked about contributing as guest writers. I'm open to it. The catch is that I'd need to read the material first. It isn't about trust. I have a particular direction in mind for this site, and I can't say in advance what I'll run and what I'll pass on until I see it in front of me. Keep reading, keep an eye out, and we'll talk.

One more thing worth mentioning: the material from this site is being pulled together into a book right now.
