Postpartum Depression Doesn't Only Occur After Birth. It Can Happen After A Miscarriage As Well As After A Stillbirth. What A Crying Shame!
Most people assume postpartum depression arrives only once a baby has been delivered. That assumption leaves out the women who carry the same grief and the same chemical aftershock without a newborn in their arms. A miscarriage can trigger it. So can a stillbirth.
This is a post still in the works, but the point I want to plant now is simple: the condition is capable of unraveling a woman who was perfectly stable before, pushing her toward what feels like losing her mind. Of all the psychological struggles a woman is likely to face, few get misread and mishandled as often as this one.
