What Is The Reason For The Season?
Everyone gets to pick their own meaning for this stretch of the calendar, or to skip the whole thing. Peace, joy, irritation, a low gray mood: any of those are yours to claim right now, and I won't argue with your choice.
My own preference is to sit on the good side of it, and I'm hardly alone there. When someone tosses a "Happy Holidays" my way, or a "Merry Christmas," I take it in the spirit it's offered and send something back. So here's mine to you: have a Blessed Holiday.
